For example, the Sziget festival attracts visitors from all over the world every year. Nine bridges connect Buda and Pest. The Chain Bridge (Lánchíd) is known as the most beautiful city, and you do not want to miss a visit to this bridge. Most of the old buildings and sights can be found on the right bank of the Danube. For example, the so-called Castle District in the quiet Buda with many winding alleys, old buildings, and various churches. Here you have the 13th century Matthias Church, named after King Matthias Corvinus. Don’t forget to check it out.

If you are an art lover, you have plenty of museums to choose from with the city’s various museums and art galleries. From art, history, religion and technology to telephones and the Railway, Budapest is home to all kinds of museums. If you can’t choose, at least check out the Budapest History Museum (Budapest Történeti Múzeum) on the castle hill. The Terrorhaza Museum is a place where you can learn more about the Nazi and Communist occupations.

Budapest is home to many good restaurants serving various tasty dishes and drinks, so delicious food is not a problem. Of course, you shouldn’t miss out on the goulash while in the city. This is a traditional stew from the city. Also, visit the Great Market Hall (Nagycsarnok), cruise the Danube and see the vast communist statues in the open-air museum in Szobor Park (Memento Park). Don’t forget to visit the State Opera (Magyar Állami Operaház), enjoy the lively nightlife, the various theatres and the many cultural events in the city.
